Math & Crafts: Fall 2024
♥ Starting the week of September 16, this class meets once a week for 12 weeks, with a break for Thanksgiving. ♥
Discover how math can make us better artists, and art can make us better mathematicians! Each week, your daughter will build her frustration tolerance and acquire valuable problem-solving skills through engaging hands-on activities. While there will be multiple crafts available, the main focus will be learning how to use 8mm beads to make boxes, picture frames, pet collars, and even purses!
We cover topics such as multiplication and division of large numbers, writing and solving equations, fractions, decimals, and concepts like area and volume. This class is especially effective for those who might not (yet) identify as “math people” but still need to build and strengthen these critical skills.
This is a 1-hour class from 4:00-5:00. After class, students have the option to stay at Girlmath for an additional hour, where they can work on their homework and receive help or advanced challenges, as needed.
Open to grades 5-8
