The Economics of Taylor Swift: Fall 2024
♥ Starting the week of September 16, this class meets once a week for 12 weeks, with a break for Thanksgiving. ♥
Explore the exciting world of math and economics through the lens of Taylor Swift’s financial empire! In this class, students will apply key concepts like fractions, base 10 conversions, and proportionality while diving into economic principles such as supply and demand, revenue streams, and budgeting. By analyzing what it costs to produce an album, go on tour, and create merchandise, students will see how math and economics apply to real-world scenarios they care about. Whether calculating ticket prices or understanding the profitability of a world tour, this course makes learning both fun and empowering!
This is a 1-hour class from 4:00-5:00. After class, students have the option to stay at Girlmath for an additional hour, where they can work on their homework and receive help or advanced challenges, as needed.
Open to grades 5-8
