Beadology: Spring 2025

from $900.00

Beadology: Strengthen your calculation skills, sharpen spatial reasoning, and build perseverance!

In this hands-on, creative class, your daughter will explore the fascinating intersection of math and art. Each week, students will develop problem-solving skills and frustration tolerance while creating custom beaded designs from scratch.

Using Excel, students will design their own projects, calculate the number of each color bead needed, and place an “order” to bring their design to life. They’ll then use spatial reasoning to build their creations—whether it’s a box, picture frame, or a custom purse—while applying fundamental math concepts like area, volume, and dimensions. You can see past students’ creations here!

Topics covered include multiplication and division, reading and writing equations, fractions, decimals, and essential geometry concepts and vocabulary. This class is perfect for students who may not yet identify as “math people” but are ready to strengthen these critical skills in an engaging, creative way. It is also perfect for students who already identify as “math people” and are looking for a hands-on way to apply and deepen their skills.

The class runs from 4:50 - 5:50 PM. If bundled with we[HOME]work, students can arrive an hour early for homework help or advanced math challenges. Healthy snacks are provided!

Open to grades 5 and above. Limited to 6 spots to ensure personalized instruction.
